Picnic

Sudanese immigrants have been in the San Diego community for more than twenty years now and celebrating an annual picnic has become a vital part of our culture here in San Diego County. The picnic was first hosted by our American sponsors more than a decade ago. Eventually, the population of the local Sudanese community grew large enough to host the event. After the birth of SAYCSD in 2009, they took charge and has hosted the event ever since. In this year’s event, we are going to offer scholarships to some of our best student graduating from high school and community college and celebrate our love and unity for one another with a Sudanese traditional dance from some of our best dance groups.

This event is going to be free of charge for all. However, we encourage people to contribute with money and time if possible, so that we can deliver a surpassed experience to our families, friends, and guests each year.
